Event overview

The 2026 TAK Offsite is the annual gathering of the government Team Awareness Kit community. It brings together the organizations and practitioners developing, integrating, fielding, supporting, and operationally employing TAK across the joint force, coalition environments, federal agencies, state and local public safety organizations, and the commercial technology community.

The Offsite is designed as a technical and operational exchange rather than a traditional trade show. Government program offices, operational users, developers, international participants, researchers, and industry partners share lessons learned, demonstrate emerging capabilities, identify interoperability challenges, and help shape the future of the TAK ecosystem.

Current participation figures

Current planning and registration figures include:

  • More than 100,000 active TAK.gov users worldwide
  • Approximately 140 international attendees
  • Approximately 22 allied and partner nations represented
  • More than 40 Department of Defense program offices and organizations represented
  • More than 50 presentations, demonstrations, roundtables, training sessions, and program updates
  • Three concurrent presentation tracks during the primary Offsite program

Key TAK facts

Team Awareness Kit, or TAK, is a family of government-developed software applications and services that provides shared situational awareness, geospatial collaboration, messaging, mission planning, and integration of operational data.

The TAK ecosystem includes:

  • ATAK for Android devices
  • WinTAK for Windows computers
  • TAKX for Windows and Linux deployments
  • iTAK for Apple mobile devices
  • TAK Server for secure data exchange and collaboration
  • VR TAK for Virtual Mission Planning
  • Software development kits, plugins, APIs, and integration tools supporting government and commercial development

TAK can integrate information from personnel, vehicles, sensors, unmanned systems, mapping services, cameras, mission applications, and other operational data sources into a common geospatial environment.

TAK is used across a broad range of missions, including:
